B&B New Forest
Bed & Breakfast Accommodation in The National Park and Dorset
New Forest bed and breakfast accommodation is far different than what was generally deemed acceptable not 10 years ago. As throughout the UK standards have had to increase due to the competition from other owners and it is the visitors that benefit from the high standards that have been generally associated with the forest's accommodation for many years.
It’s not unusual for a b&b to have the high levels of furnishings you would normally associate with a 3 or 4 star hotel as a majority of the b & b owners take great pride in making their visitors stays as comfortable as possible. But as they say you get what you pay for so sometimes it is worth paying just a few pounds more to get the most comfortable accommodation that you can to turn that special break or holiday in to a very special experience.
Bed & breakfast in the forest and in the nearby Dorset B&Bs can range from the budget end with basic but none the less clean and adequate accommodation, right up to the quaint thatched roof variety so they provide the perfect match for your flexible holiday requirements.
Bed and breakfasts often include en-suite bathrooms, colour TV’s with DVD, tea and coffee facilities and of course in the technology age some even have wifi or internet connectivity. It is always best however to confirm with the owners when booking exactly what facilities they offer.
Meals wise as you would expect there is always the traditional british breakfast of beans, sausage, mushrooms, and bacon of course and in some b&b's continental breakfast as well, and in addition, select b and bs will also offer half board arrangements.
A lot of the New Forest b&bs will also understand that you may wish to go on a picnic for the day so some will even provide picnics sets if required.
Of course the other major advantage you have with a Bed and breakfast that you will struggle to find with a hotel is the hospitality of the owners, who generally are a wealth of knowledge about local history, current events, will often go beyond the call of duty to make your stay memorable.
To help maintain the beauty of this outstanding area the local district council are supporting a ’Green Leaf’ program encourages bed and breakfast accommodation owners to offer discounts to visitors who show their support in lessening our impact on visiting the forest.
