Blackfield and Langley make up part of the Fawley parish council which encompasses the local villages of Blackfield, Calshot, Fawley, Hardley, Holbury and Langley.
These villages also form part of what is known as the waterside area which stretches down the eastern edge of the New Forest on one side and the Solent on the other.
The whole of this area has gradually expanded over the years and it is now difficult to distinguish one village from the other as they all seem to have merged more or less.
Blackfield is at the bottom of this string of villages and as such is very close to Exbury gardens and Beaulieu, as well as the beaches at Calshot and Lepe Country park (and Calshot activity centre) all of which make an excellent day out for the family.
There are a limited number of shops in Blackfield as most are situated just down the road in Holbury, but there a re a few local shops and petrol garage along with the odd restaurant if you fancy a bite to eat.
There is not a huge amount of tourist accommodation here but it does provide a good base if you are looking to stay in this part of the area.
