Boat Trips - New Forest Activities
Whilst the forest offers fantastic scenery that you can see while cycling, horse riding and going on New Forest walks, a boat trip can offer a completely different perspective about life on the south coast and can be an enjoyable break from the land base scenery.
Anyway, surely if your are this close to the sea you've just got to try out a boat trip of some description even if it is only a river cruise.
Bucklers Hard offers boat trips up and down the Beaulieu River which are very relaxing and take you past a nature reserve and of course the simply stunning Exbury Gardens (if you haven’t been there, put it on your itinerary).
Another Boat trip available in the New Forest area can be found at Keyhaven which takes you to Hurst Castle which can be a bit of a trek along the long spit here, especially for the very young or elderly.
Lymington Quay is also a great place to visit and has a variety of boat trips that take in the Isle of Wight, Lymington river and the needles. The Isle of Wight Ferry also runs from here.
Alternatively you could try your hand at a spot of sea fishing as Lymington also has a good choice of sea fishing trips where there is an excellent chance you will bring back something to cook on the Barbecue.
A little further down the coast there are also further boat trips in Christchurch, Bournemouth and Poole where you can take in the scenic beauty of the Dorset coast and perhaps a trip to the idyllic Brownsea Island.
