Calshot Activities Centre - New Forest Activities
Calshot activities centre is very aptly named so if want to be active during your holiday to the New Forest Area then this is the place to be.
This is not the place to come if you want a more sedate experience, although if your group is mixed you could always split up and have a less strenuous day lazing on the pebble Beach at Calshot watching the windsurfer literally zipping along the top of the waves.
Alternatively you could go for a stroll along the heritage path here with stunning views across the Solent and Calshot Spit, a both ancient and more recent defensive position for the mouth of the Solent.
Lepe Country Park and beaches are also only a short drive away as well.
Calshot Activities Centre is one of the largest of its kind in the UK and offers a wide range of adventure activities both in the form of residential and non-residential courses as well as standard admissions for some events.
With activities for water sports courses ranging from windsurfing and canoeing on both the open Solent water and the delightfully sheltered Calshot Spit, and power boating if you prefer big boys (and girls) toys, the activities centre is ideally situated, and with Royal Yacht Association and British Canoe Union certification you can be assured that the standards are excellent.
Not a water sports enthusiasts, not a problem. There are plenty of land based activities available at the centre as well for example the spectacular indoor climbing facilities. Calshot Activities centre boasts some of the biggest and the best in the country including massive overhangs.
There is also track cycling available here as well with the only banked velodrome in southern England. The velodrome is of international class but is also open to novices as well.
Another activity that is available here is Snow sports including both conventional skiing and snowboarding as well. The three slopes here at Calshot use a revolutionary new surface material that is safer and softer than the traditional dry slope surfacing and skiing and snowboarding are available for beginners through to professional level.
For the extreme freestyle Snowboarders Calshot Activities Centre has a bunch of slope toys for you to practice your art making it Britain’s number 1 Indoor Dry slope for Snowboarding.
