Festivals And EventsNew Forest Festivals and Events The Forest is absolutely full of events and festivals the whole year round and it has been said that there is something to do in the forest everyday day if you know where to find it. The biggest event in the area just has to be the New Forest Show which is held every year and attracts over 90,000 visitors a year and has in excess of 600 trade stands selling lots of local arts and crafts as well as some from further a field. Unfortunately the event is only on for three days a year but not to worry there are plenty of other things to see and do in and around the New Forest. Many of the local villages have festivals and events happening on an ongoing basis in fact there are over 800 scheduled events for this year in the Forest already, and undoubtedly more will be added. Activities range from the good old farmers markets, to Fungi walks (if you know your mushrooms!), discovery trails, Craft and Wood festivals, forest fun days, specialist walks and art exhibitions to name but a few. Beaulieu is a major centre for events, festivals and rallies, and the diversity is quite staggering. Events for 2009 season start in February and end in October and include: MAJOR FESTIVALS AND EVENTS Boat Jumble 26/04/2009 Beaulieu BoatJumble is said to be the largest sale of boating bits in the UK and is generally brimming with excellent buys and boat jumble bargains galore. MotorMart Auto jumble 16/05/2009 - 17/05/2009 Upwards of a 1,000 stands selling motoring parts, automobilia, literature and a huge range of accessories including hundreds of cars for sale. Hot Rod & Custom Drive In Day 20/06/2009 - 21/06/2009 Hot Rod, Custom and American vehicle owners throng to this event to not only compare their own pride an joys but to display them too. International Auto jumble 12/09/2009 - 13/09/2009 Forcast to have well over 2000 stands selling auto jumble from around the world, the event is said to be the largest outdoor sale of motoring items this side of the Atlantic! 2009 Fright Night Fireworks 31/10/2009 If you haven't been to a Beaulieu firworks spectacular before then make a date as visitors are always wowed by the explosive and dynamic fireworks display, which this year will be set to spine chilling music scores from the movies.
