New Forest Hotels - Choosing a Hotel From Budget To Luxury

For a truly relaxing New Forest holiday there is no better place to stay than at one of the splendid New Forest Hotels or Dorset Hotels, especially if you are looking for that perfect base from which to explore the outstanding beauty that the New Forest and neighbouring Dorset have to offer.

The national parked famed for it's open heathlands, walks and of course the New Forest Ponies has attracted all manner of visitors to the area for centuries and, for many not keen to sample the delights of the regions flora and fauna first hand staying at one of the many New Forest campsites, the natural choice of course is to choose from the wide range of hotel accommodation or New Forest cottages the region also has to offer its more discerning guests.

The range of New Forest hotels will appeal to all tastes and budgets as the area has hotel accommodation ranging from budget or cheap hotels right through the spectrum to 4 star and 5 star luxury hotels with oversize rooms, many also offering swimming pools and spas so you can relax after a day out prior to your evening meal.

As well as those people who thrive on the pampered stress free and care free types of holiday, hotels in Dorset and the new forest are also sought after by those wanting a romantic weekend break or who are perhaps celebrating an anniversary of some description, and in addition some will also cater for the romantic New Forest wedding where you can make full use of the hotels conference facilities for your reception before slipping away to start your honeymoon in one of the luxurious bedrooms or the honeymoon suite.

To Help you choose the right hotel for your New Forest break please see the star rating guide below, but always confirm your actual requirements when booking.

One Star Hotels

A 1 star hotel generally has basic levels of furnishing at a practical and simplistic level. Many are family owned and also tend to err on the smaller side as hotels go. You will need to check if the accommodation has its own en-suite facilities as this is not a requirement so don't leave it to chance. You should have breakfast facilities and at least a bar or lounge.

Two Star Hotels

As with the one star hotels those with 2 stars again tend to be small privately owned businesses and could be inns or small country lodges. Accommodation is more spacious and furnishings will be adequate and meet requirements. All bedrooms should have en-suite facilities of some description and breakfast is available with an evening meal being available at least 5 nights of the week.

Three Star Hotels

3 star hotels tend to be on the more grand side of life and as a rule of thumb will be bigger than the 1 and 2 star hotel accommodations. Bedrooms will have far more space and the level of furnishing will be more comfortable and will include a TV, phone, dressing table and/or desk.

Public facilities are greatly enhanced offering breakfast, snack lunches and an evening meal all week. Room service will also be available as will a laundry service.

Four Star Hotels

With 4 star hotels a much higher formalised level of service should be available. The hotel accommodation will be much higher than average standard and will be spacious and very well appointed. Furnishings will be of a high quality with full en-suite facilities.
Porter arrangements will be formal with a designated desk area and staff will be uniformed. Dining arrangements will be of a high standard with waiter service (table service should also be available in the lounge or bar area). Room service will be available 24 hours a day.

Five Star Hotels

5 star hotels are the crème de la crème of the Luxury hotel range and as such must be of a luxurious standard catering to the fastidious needs of the clientele. Dining arrangements must be of true international standard offering an extensive range of cuisine prepared and served to exacting standards.

Concierge is available and staff at this level are highly trained and offer exemplary levels of service as nothing less would be acceptable.
